Delete your account

How to permanently delete your account in the PurPace app, provided by Kuordin Haji, and its data. You don’t need to be signed in to read this page.

On this page

In the app (fastest)

This works on iPhone and Android, and takes effect immediately:

  1. Open PurPace and go to Together. Sign in if you aren’t signed in.
  2. Open Privacy, then scroll to your account.
  3. Choose Delete account and confirm.
  4. If you use Sign in with Apple: on iPhone, Apple asks you to confirm once more, and PurPace removes its access for you. Where that isn’t possible, such as on Android, the app tells you and you can stop using Sign in with Apple for PurPace yourself afterwards.

If you can’t use the app

Email support@purpace.app from the email address of your account, with the subject "Delete my PurPace account". If you use Sign in with Apple with a private relay address, write from your Apple ID’s email address.

To protect you, we only act on a request we can match to the account’s own email address. If we can’t match it, we will ask you to confirm in another way. We delete the account and confirm by email without undue delay, and in any case within one month of receiving your request. If a request is complex, that period can be extended by up to two further months; we will tell you within the first month, and why.

What is deleted

Deleting your account permanently removes:

  • your account, sign-in details and email address;
  • your display name and avatar colour;
  • your friends, friend requests, invitations, blocks and mutes;
  • your sharing settings and your shared daily steps;
  • your membership of circles and challenges, and your steps in them;
  • encouragements you sent and received, and your notification history;
  • your notification device tokens and your installation identifier.

Circles and challenges you created

They don’t have to end for everyone else. A circle you created continues under the member who has been in it longest, who becomes its new owner. A challenge you organized continues under a remaining participant, who becomes its new organizer.

The name you gave a circle or challenge stays visible to its remaining members. Everything of yours in it is removed, so a team total drops by your contribution. Invitations you sent to a circle disappear, and invitations still open in a challenge you organized are declined.

A circle with no other member, or a challenge nobody else joined, is deleted.

What stays on your phone

Your walks, steps, Quran listening, dhikr and progress were never stored in your account. They stay in the app on your phone, and you can keep using PurPace without an account. To remove them, delete the app.

What may be kept, and why

Your account and its Together data are removed from the live database at once. Copies can remain for a limited time in database backups and in our providers’ technical logs, such as records of sign-in emails, until these expire. One log line records the deleted account’s internal ID, with no email address, so the account isn’t brought back if a backup ever has to be restored.

Deleting your account in the app creates no separate email record. If you asked by email, we keep your request and our reply to show that we handled it, for no more than 12 months after the matter is resolved, plus the time until our next monthly deletion check. We may delete them sooner, and keep them longer only where a legal obligation requires it. A deleted email can stay recoverable in the mailbox system for a short time afterwards. If you also joined the website waitlist, that is separate: use the unsubscribe link in any waitlist email, or ask us.
